Dev Log Reflection

This is a dev log for the end of development for reflection of this past semester.

What went well: I made quite a few modular-ish systems that worked with other systems to create fluid interaction for the player throughout the gameplay experience. Incorporated level design techniques when adding in the different weapons, items, enemies and their patrol routes to the level created by the animators. Incorporated world partitioning to the animators level to attempt to improve the performance of the level whilst playing the game. Fixed bugs with the systems I created whenever I could. Helped the other programmers in my group with issues when I could. Explored various areas of game development during this semester and learnt of various different ways to not only make my code more modular and reusable but also learnt where I could've applied this to systems I had made in the past. Experimented with various different OOP programming techniques rather than just sticking to the easy and simple way of doing something which then also helped to create more modular systems that could be expanded upon easily. Documented what I did with each commit the majority of the time which I then also documented in the development logs. Engaged in the meetings on campus with teammates.

What I would change next time: Outline more at the start what I wanted to develop and create timelines for the different features and systems that I planned on implementing to help keep time with what was being done and to not over scope and feature creep on the systems I was implementing. Communicate more with teammates. Keep more up to date documents for timelining and outlining work that is being done and needs to be done better next time.
